The Writing Center's Graduate Thesis Retreat is free and provides a supportive space where graduate students working on their thesis can take advantage of focused writing time in a positive, quiet environment. The retreat will also offer presentations on work-life balance, time management, and proofreading strategies.
The Graduate Thesis Retreat is for graduate students currently enrolled in Thesis I (5398) or Thesis II (5399). It is strongly recommended that you have already formed your committee before participating in this retreat.
Because space is limited, you must RSVP by registering for the retreat, and at least five students need to RSVP so the retreat can happen. If you register for the retreat and do not attend, you may not be allowed to attend future retreats and/or writing programs offered by the Writing Center. Once again, this retreat is free and is open to currently enrolled TAMIU graduate students.

Here at the Writing Center, we listen to all suggestions, and we heard you all loud and clear. The Writing Center will begin offering late-night tutoring hours.
To start, we are going to offer late-night hours this November.
Between 8:30 pm - 12:00 am, we will only be accepting walk-ins. In the future, we will look at opportunities to offer extended hours on a more regular basis.
Feel free to bring your coffee and snacks! We'll provide some refreshments, as well.
