College of Nursing and Health Sciences

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences welcomes all student health science majors. Our College offers Bachelor’s degrees in Nursing, Kinesiology, Communication Science Disorders, and Public Health, and two Masters degrees in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Administration.

In the era of COVID-19, health care professionals are needed now more than ever. Obtaining a degree with us will not only prepare you for a career path that is marketable, but also equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to address the changing healthcare dynamic of the individuals and populations we proudly serve.

Once accepted into our programs, you will be assigned an academic advisor who will guide your journey here at TAMIU. Our faculty, who are all experts in their fields, are committed to your success and on-time graduation.

Grants

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences is a sub-grantee of the Sí Texas Project. Funding has been provided by the Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas and the Social Innovation Fund.

The College's TAMIU-SCAN Prevention Project is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.

Our Programs

Tuition Waiver

*Tuition assistance is available to eligible firefighters (paid or volunteer) in the state of Texas enrolled in college-level courses at TAMIU. This waiver can be applied to any of these programs:


*Tuition waivers are afforded to clinical preceptors who have Preceptor Agreements with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
