Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Financial Aid is to serve students and parents. Our office provides assistance and information on financial aid programs offered in order to pursue their educational goals.

Dear Student,

Financial Aid is made available by a process through which the student, the student's family, and Texas A&M International University work together through federal, state, and local programs to assist in meeting the student's financial needs to attend college.

To obtain an equitable appraisal of the family's financial resources and ability to meet the cost of education of the student, TAMIU uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is processed by the United States Department of Education. These services provide the student and the university a reasonable figure representing the student's total Expected Family Contribution (EFC) toward their educational costs. This amount, the EFC, is based on a formula developed by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the United States Congress.

Students must reapply annually for aid and it is strongly recommended that the student continue to utilize the no-fee form, FAFSA. Each FAFSA is valid for the long semesters, Fall and Spring as well as the Summer sessions. FAFSAs filed for use in the previous academic year are not valid towards the current academic year.

The intent of this Website is to assist the student in understanding the programs and policies related to the aspects of Financial Aid and associated programs. The information is subject to revision. For more detailed and current information, it is suggested that the student contact the TAMIU Office of Financial Aid.

Sincerely,

Laura Elizondo
