A&M International Sets On-Site Registration at Area High Schools
Local and area high school students who wish to register for Summer or Fall courses at Texas A&M International University can do so without leaving their high school campuses during the University's "On-Site Registration" April 15 - 30.
Representatives from various University offices including Registrar, Admissions, and Enrollment Management will guide students through the registration process during the On-Site Registration, said Maria R. Rosillo, Director of Admissions at A&M International.
"Basically, we are taking our registration process to our local and area schools through sophisticated computer systems that link us to A&M International's main campus. So instead of lines and last-minute waiting, registering for classes and getting a Summer or Fall 1998 course schedule finalized is only a point and click away on a computer," Rosillo explained.
High school students who take advantage of On-Site Registration will be able to select their classes, finalize their course schedule, and receive a printed course schedule, all without leaving their high school campus.
"Once a student registers via On-Site Registration, all he or she needs to do is attend a Freshman Orientation this summer and pay tuition and fees. Students have until May 25 to pay for Summer I or Long Session courses, July 1 for Summer II courses, and August 21 for Fall courses," Rosillo said.

High school students who wish to participate in A&M International's On-Site Registration should schedule an appointment through their senior counselor. Students who set an appointment should have first filed an Undergraduate Application for Admission with the University and have been accepted into A&M International.
Admission forms may be obtained from high school counselors or through the University's Office of Admissions located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library, room 155, on the University's main campus. Students who apply for admission into A&M International must submit the following along with the admission form: an official high school transcript showing current class rank and grade point average; SAT or ACT scores; and TASP scores, unless exempt.
Rosillo noted that beginning in Fall of 1998 all undergraduate students who do not meet requirements for TASP exemption must take the TASP Test before attempting college-level coursework at any Texas public college or university. The Texas State Legislature mandated the new TASP Testing requirement.
"This means that although high school students who have not taken the TASP can take advantage of On-Site Registration, they will have to take the TASP before classes start, otherwise their registration will be cancelled," she added.
A&M International will administer the TASP at the University on May 9, June 20, and July 25.
