Texas A&M International University’s  (TAMIU) week-long celebration of Make a Difference Day, a nationwide effort to unite people in one day of service to make a difference in their communities, concludes Saturday.

On Saturday, Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. – 12 noon, TAMIU student volunteers will help re-energize the Ruthe B. Cowl Rehabilitation Center by painting the Kid’s Therapy Room, washing playground walls, cleaning and painting the garden area and providing shelving for equipment in the Adult Therapy Wing.

On Monday, TAMIU signed an historic Memorandum of Agreement establishing service opportunities aiding local agencies by enhancing student learning and development with the partner non-profit organizations.

Throughout the week, the University has hosted local agencies on campus to promote their services and activities among TAMIU students.

Partners signing the MOU Monday included the South Texas Food Bank, Children’s Advocacy Center, Volunteers Serving the Need, SCAN, Azteca Economic Development and Preservation, Voz de Niños, and the Ruthe B. Cowl Rehabilitation Center.
