Black History Month Celebration Continues at TAMIU

Black History Month celebration continues at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) with various activities planned throughout the month of February that are free and open to the public.

Dr. Peter Haruna, professor of Public Administration and chair of the Intercultural Events and Education Committee, said Black History Month celebrates the heritage of people of African descent in the United States and builds a bridge between intercultural values and student learning experiences.

“Events commemorating Black History 2018 offer reflections about understanding racial constructs across cultures to enrich the intercultural competence of our students,” he said.
