Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) students and graduates of its online Master of Business Administration Program have some special bragging rights these days. The TAMIU MBA program has been ranked first among Texas’s Top Five Best Online MBA Programs by OnlineMBA.

OnlineMBA is a comprehensive hub that provides an online guide to MBA programs, career options for graduates, and tips on how to choose the best program. They affirm that in general, an MBA usually comes with a high return on investment and exciting career opportunities.

TAMIU’s MBA online is offered in four concentrations: management, international banking and finance, international business, and international trade and logistics.

A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business Dean Dr. Steve Sears said he’s excited to see the Sanchez School and its MBA students and graduates earning such recognition.

"On behalf of my colleagues in the Sanchez, School, we are honored to be recognized by OnlineMBA. We truly strive to provide an accessible and exceptional experience at an affordable price to our students, many of whom represent the first in their families to go to college," Dr. Sears said, "I’m especially excited to see TAMIU leading the Top Five list that also includes the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley, Rice University, Sam Houston State University, and the University of North Texas.

TAMIU’s AASCB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business)-accredited programs met a stringent OnlineMBA ranking methodology that considered four main criteria: academics, affordability, reputation, and program availability. TAMIU is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

In addition to important program accreditations, OnlineMBA reviewers also considered National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES) data. NCES is a part of the Institute of Education Sciences, itself part of the Federal Department of Education. Other subfactors considered included retention and graduation rates, full-time faculty and student-to-faculty ratio, costs for students with grants and scholarships, and the number of students receiving financial aid.

Reviewers noted that TAMIU students can complete its online MBA 30-credit required coursework in as little as 15 months. Having six start dates throughout the year in a completely online format further drives accessibility for students and working professionals, with affordable costs of just over $10,000.
