Dual Language Methods for ECE Bilingual Instruction
Three semester hours.
This course provides an overview of transitional and maintenance bilingual programs and the current legislation regarding dual language development. Pedagogical trends, approaches, strategies and techniques for the maintenance of a first language and acquisition of English as a second language in early childhood through fourth grade are emphasized. Prerequisites: Admission to the College of Education and oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish.
