| Reading Problems in the Middle and High School |
| Three semester hours. (SP) |
| This course focuses on the identification of reading problems among the middle school and high school students. Examines a variety of assessment and evaluation strategies and materials that are appropriate for the classroom teacher to utilize. Although both formal and informal procedures are introduced, the main focus is non -intrusive, naturalistic procedures. Reading problems from the developmental perspective and the special learning needs of students who encounter diffculties with reading are examined. This course is not required for reading majors. Prerequisite: Admission to the College of Education and 2.7 overall grade point average. |
