OVERVIEW

The University:  Together with ESADE, ICADE and Deusto, among other institutions, ETEA is a part of the UNIJES Federation of Higher Education Universities, Faculties and Institutions, established or linked through statutory regulations to the SOCIETY OF JESUS in Spain.  It has an institution affiliated to the University of Córdoba, the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences.  There are approximately 2.500 students at ETEA distributed among the three degrees that the faculty offers: Degree in Business Administration (LADE); Degree in Market Research and Marketing Techniques (LITM); Diploma in Economics and Business Sciences (DCE).  In addition ETEA offers Masters and PhD programmes

Location:  Located approx. 1.5 hrs. south of Madrid by high speed train, Córdoba (Andalucia) is a nice and welcoming town. It has approx. 350,000 inhabitants and transportation within the town is easy, since distances are short.  It has a Mediterranean feel, with many hours of sun, where people enjoy being outdoors.  Students will enjoy its rich history with many traditions and feasts.  Although it is a sunny town with good weather most part of the year, temperatures may be extreme with very hot days in summer and very cold days in winter time.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Students may participate in this program for a semester or an academic year.  Because of the academic calendar, it is advisable that those students whishing to study for one semester select the Spring semester.  For general information on course work, click here.  For a listing of previously approved courses click here.

HOUSING

For the first days in Córdoba, we recommend that you should stay at the “Youth Hostel”, as it is very well equipped and economical. Information on price and discounts is available here where on-line reservations can also be made. The address of the Youth Hostel in Córdoba is: INTURJOVEN, S.A. Albergue de la Juventud, Plaza Judá Leví s/n, 14003 Córdoba, Telphone number: + 34 957 355.040 Fax number: + 34 957 355.044.  Reservations should be arranged by June 30th if you are coming in September and by December 21st if you are coming in February.

Each exchange student will have a tutor from the Grupo Europa whom he/she will meet upon arrival in Córdoba. Tutors help students look for and arrange definite accommodation and provide them with support for adaptation in Córdoba.  Spanish students usually live in rented flats shared with other students. Prices range from 200€ to 250€ a month, depending on the area where the flat is located. A deposit equivalent to one months rent will have to be paid together with the first months rent. This deposit will be returned after the renting period if no incidences occurred.

FINANCIAL AID and SCHOLARSHIPS

TAMIU financial aid may be applied to the costs of studying abroad.  Student interested in receiving financial aid should:

  • Direct financial aid inquiries to the Department of Financial Aid
  • Complete and submit the FAFSA by the appropriate deadline
  • Request a study abroad budget (will be provided one the student has completed his/her full study abroad application)

In addition to financial aid, qualified students may apply for the International Education Fee Scholarship, the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Scholarship, and the Gilman Scholarship.

Students who apply to a semester ETEA program will automatically receive the one-time Partner Scholarship in the amount of $250.
