Opportunities

Registration:

Honors students will have and individual session with the directory for advising every semester. All members are allowed to preregister for classes before registration is open to the rest of the University community, provided all student holds are cleared. 

Study Rooms:

TAMIU have a study room in  Killam Library has with computers designated only for Honors students. 

Honors Courses:

UHP has designated Honors-only classes that provide stimulating discussion and personal attention. All other courses are by Honors Contracts which provides these opportunities to engage in undergraduate research with some of TAMIU’s most talented faculty

Recruitment:

Community Engagement:

Civic engagement offers students to gain leadership skills, new networking opportunities, and creates ties to the community. The UHP partners with the office of Student Conduct and Community Engagement which coordinates and promotes service events. SCCE always has volunteering opportunities available through their community partner agencies. 

 

GPHCGreat Plains Honors Council:

The GPHC is the regional conference to which the UHP belongs and is affiliated with the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC).Each spring the GPHC holds a student-focused conference at a university within the council .  The UHP will offer the chance for a number of students to receive a paid trip to the GPHC to present either a paper or a poster based on your research.  The UHP Director will issue a call for abstracts during the latter half of the fall semester.
