Within one year of admission, you will be responsible for creating your advising committee. You should do this after meeting the MPA faculty and decide the members of your committee. The advising committee, generally consisting of three MPA faculty members, guides candidates through the culminating portion of the program and provides support as they prepare for the comprehensive examination. In some cases, depending on your career goals, you may prefer to have one faculty member from another program serve on your advising committee. You may change the membership of your advising committee to better serve your educational pursuits with the approval of the MPA Director. You must meet with a member of your advising committee each semester or at least once a year for consultation regarding courses and to review your academic progress.
