The Communications Division at Texas A&M International University is the hub of the University's safety and security, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week including the holidays.
Our Communications Division is the first connection between law enforcement officers in the field and the TAMIU community. Additionally, as the primary answering point for all calls that originate within the University, the division is responsible for maintaining effective and efficient communications at all times between not only the field officers and the TAMIU community, but with other agencies as well. Dispatchers aid in the mission of protecting and serving our TAMIU community. The goal is to gather as much information as possible to relate to first-responders to increase the safety of officers, students, employees, and visitors of TAMIU.
The Division is staffed with an Office Coordinator, five (5) 911-TCLEOSE certified Telecommunication Operators and (3) three student employees.
