FAQs

TAMIU Books IncludED takes the hassle out of course material buying because course material costs for the Fall 2021 semester are covered by the University as part of a pilot program. This allows every enrolled, degree-seeking student access to all required materials on Day One.

Yes! You will not pay out of pocket for your required course materials, as costs are covered.

Your digital course materials will be available using your official TAMIU student email and in Blackboard on the first day of classes. If your course materials aren’t available digitally, the Campus Bookstore will get everything ready for you! All you need to do is pick up your required, non-digital materials at the Campus Bookstore in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center after you receive your confirmation email.

Students in course(s) with non-digital materials will receive an e-mail (sent to their Dusty e-mail account) from the bookstore no later than August 16. Non-digital course materials will have to be picked up at the bookstore.

Your course materials can be mailed to you for a small shipping and handling fee. Please reach out to the bookstore at 2167mgr@follett.com for details.

If you drop a course, return non-digital materials to the Campus Bookstore by September 10, 2021. If you add a new course, your digital materials will be available in Blackboard within 48 hours. For non-digital materials, go to the Campus Bookstore one day after enrollment.

Students at other campuses who have participated in a similar program love the convenience and ease of accessing their course materials…and being ready for classes on Day One!

Included are required course materials adopted by your professor through the campus bookstore… such as required textbooks. Supporting or consumable course materials that could include art supplies, lab kits or scrubs, for example, may not be included. The bookstore is not responsible for final faculty adoptions as either required or recommended.

Only materials identified by your professor or campus as “required” are included as part of the program. All “recommended” materials will be available for purchase at the Campus Bookstore.

Enjoy your break.  Any physical books you received as part of this program for any course in which you remained enrolled are yours to keep. If you drop a course, return non-digital materials to the Campus Bookstore.

Yes! After the term is complete, any physical books you received as part of this program for any course in which you remained enrolled are yours to keep. You can also purchase a printed copy of digital materials at a discounted price.

What you’re seeing is the actual value of your course materials as covered by TAMIU Books IncludED. This is shown on your tuition and fee bill as a cost, followed by a credit for the exact amount shown in parentheses or preceded by a negative (-) symbol -- erasing that cost. We wanted you to know the value this program is providing you. It’s still free. And still great.
