FAQs

TAMIU Books IncludED takes the hassle out of course material buying because costs for  required  course materials for the Fall 2022 semester are included in your tuition and fee bill. Every enrolled, degree-seeking student will have access to all required materials on Day One of classes.

What’s a Semester? The Fall Semester consists of the regular long semester starting in August and 7-week courses starting in August and October.  The Spring Semester includes Wintermester, the regular long semester starting in January, late start courses starting in February, and 7-week courses starting in January and March.  The Summer Semester consists of Maymester, Summer 1, Summer 2 and Summer 3. TAMIU Books IncludED is not available to students enrolled in Texas A&M-RELLIS programs. ECHS program students should reach out to their school counselor to determine campus participation in TAMIU Books IncludED.

Yes! The vast majority of students will save with TAMIU Books IncludED because the low, per-semester credit hour charge is hard to beat, providing many students with all their materials for about the cost of a new textbook.

Still, because course material costs vary by course, students who find their course materials cheaper elsewhere have the opportunity to opt-out of the program each semester. This opportunity is for all classes in a semester, not by course. TAMIU Books IncludED is an “all in” or “all out” option for each semester. Semesters are Fall, Spring (which includes Wintermester), and Summer (which includes Maymester). Once you opt out, you will only be able to opt back before the census date for your term as published in the University's academic calendar.

If you drop a course, simply return non-digital materials to the Campus Bookstore within 24 hours of dropping the course—there's no action required on your part for digital materials. If you add a new course, your digital materials will be available in Blackboard within 48 hours and the charge automatically added to your student account. For non-digital materials, go to the Campus Bookstore one day after enrollment.  If you drop a course, you will see a credit to your student account.

We’ve included required course materials adopted by your professor through the Campus Bookstore… such as required textbooks and access codes. Supporting or consumable course materials such as art supplies, lab kits or scrubs, are generally not included. The Bookstore is not responsible for faculty adoptions as either required or recommended.

You can opt out for any semester by visiting the link to the opt out portal that will be sent to your TAMIU Dusty student email account about 2 weeks before the start of each semester. This email will give you directions on how to opt out.

Remember, TAMIU Books IncludED is an "all in" or "all out" option for each semester. If you're taking 5 classes in the Fall or Spring semester, when you opt-out, the materials for all 5 of your classes will no longer be available to you through TAMIU Books IncludED, and your student account will be credited after the census date as published on the University's academic calendar for the respective semester you're opting out of. Semesters are Fall, Spring (which includes Wintermester), and Summer (which includes Maymester). If you're enrolled in 7-week courses, each 7-week part-of-term falls into a long semester and has only one opt-out. You cannot opt out for one 7-week course in a semester without opting out of the second 7-week course in the same semester.

Once you opt out, you will only be able to opt back before the census date for your term as published in the University's academic calendar.

TAMIU Books IncludED is a program that takes the hassle out of course material buying because required course material costs are included as part of your tuition and fees. This allows every enrolled student access to all their required course materials on Day One, and provides the confidence that you have the correct materials for your courses. Your course materials may be digital or physical but will be available to you before your first day of class.

In order to opt out of the program, visit the link to the opt out portal that will be sent to your TAMIU Dusty student email account about 2 weeks before the start of each semester. This email will give you directions on how to opt out.

Once you opt out, you will only be able to opt back before the census date for your term as published in the University's academic calendar.

Important: When you opt out of any part-of-term in a semester (such as a 7-week or minimester course) you will NOT be able to opt back in for subsequent semesters in the same term

All requests to opt out of the program will be processed at one time, and your student account will be credited after the census date as published on the University’s academic calendar for the respective semester (Fall; Spring, including Wintermester; or Summer, including Maymester) you’re opting out of.  If you’ve opted out, you can reduce your tuition and fee payment by this amount, and you won’t be charged a late fee or dropped from any classes if your balance consists solely of the TAMIU Books IncludED fee.

Once you opt out, you will only be able to opt back before the census date for your term as published in the University's academic calendar.

Your digital course materials will be available using your TAMIU Dusty student email and in Blackboard by the first day of classes. If your course materials aren’t available digitally, the Campus Bookstore will get everything ready for you! All you need to do is pick up your required, non-digital materials at the Campus Bookstore in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center after you receive your confirmation email.

Students will receive an email (sent to their TAMIU Dusty student email account) from the Campus Bookstore approximately three weeks prior to the start of the Fall semester. Non-digital course materials will have to be picked up at the Bookstore.

Your course materials can be mailed to you for a small shipping and handling fee. Please reach out to the Campus Bookstore at 2167mgr@follett.com for details.

Only materials identified by your professor or campus as "required" are included as part of the program. All “recommended” materials will be available for purchase at the Campus Bookstore.

Enjoy your break.  Any physical, or non-digital, materials you received as part of this program for any course in which you remained enrolled are yours to keep. If you drop a course, return non-digital materials to the Campus Bookstore.

Yes! After the term is complete, any physical books you received as part of this program for any course in which you remained enrolled are yours to keep. You can also purchase a printed copy of digital materials at a discounted price.
