Field Experience/Student Teaching Deadlines

Important dates to remember 

 

April 20, 2020

Placement Applications for Block Iand Block II will be available in the Office of Field and Clinical Experiences.
Packet includes:

- Placement Applications
- Criminal Background Forms (LISD & UISD)
- Pre-Employment Affidavit (LISD & UISD)
- DPS Form (Sign & Date Only)
- TB Tests Results
TB Test results need to fall within the following timeframe: 4/12/2020-8/10/2020. Results dated prior to April 12, 2020 will not be accepted.
-2 Copies of TAMIU ID
-2 Copies of Texas Driver's License or ID
 
DEADLINE:
July 31, 2020
All due to the Department of Field and Clinical Experiences in order to receive a placement for the Fall 2020 Semester.
 
* Submitting Placement Application does not guarantee enrollment in Coursework.
**Applications may be submitted pending TB results.
 
 
 
 
 

 

Block I (EDCI 3301 OR EDBE 3325) Requirements 

Field Requirements Include (but are not limited to):
- 4 hours per week, 10 weeks of instructional field time
- Participate in group activities.
- Correct papers
- Assist in preparation of bulletin boards and instructional models
- Complete and teach 2 lessons, which will be evaluated by the cooperating teacher.

Block II Requirements

 

Field requirements include(but are not limited to):
-Approximately 7 hours per week, for 11 weeks, of instructional classroom field time

-Participate in group activities -Correct papers

-Assist in preparation of bulletin boards and instructional models

-Complete and teach 6 lessons, 3 of which will be evaluated by the classroom mentor, and 3 will be evaluated by the University Teaching Supervisor

-All students must pass the TExES Exam(s) in their area of Specialization/Content area to be eligible for enrollment in EDCI 4693.

*Class meetings will begin August 10, 2020*
