MENINGITIS VACCINATION

If you plan to reside in on-campus housing, you must be vaccinated against meningitis and be able to present official proof thereof to Student Health Services.  The vaccinations must have taken place no less than 10 days prior to your move-in date to University housing facilities.  In the case of foreign students, we advise you to have your vaccination done at least one month in advance and to have it approved by Student Health Services at least two weeks before arriving to the TAMIU campus.

Process: complete the Bacterial Meningitis Verification Form and submit it via email together with official proof of vaccination to Student Health Services.  If it poses a medical risk for you to be vaccinated agains Meningitis, you may complete and submit a Bacterial Meningitis Medical Exemption Affidavit.  Upon receipt, you will receive confirmation from Student Health Services regarding your housing clearance.

For questions about the appropriate vaccination, questions about forms, and general student health services, you may contact Student Health Services via email or call them at 956.326.2235.
