TAMIU Freshman Awarded Scholarship

Texas A&M International University freshman Juan Jose (J.J.) Gonzalez has been awarded a $200 scholarship from the 50+ Club, a social organization for senior citizens.

Gonzalez, a first year TAMIU student pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, is a graduate of United High School. He is the son of Juan and Laura Gonzalez.

"I am both grateful and honored to have been named recipient of this scholarship," he said.

The 50+ Club Scholarship is open to any TAMIU student who is a US citizen, graduate of a Laredo high school, and has at least a 2.5 grade point average. To be considered for the scholarship, interested students must complete an application form and answer an essay question. Recipients are chosen by members of the 50+ Club.

Application forms and additional information are available from the TAMIU Financial Aid Office, located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building Room 155 West.

Their office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, and 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
