New avenues for exploring continuing education and lifelong learning will be initiated in March at Texas A&M; International University as the University launches a series of Continuing Education courses.

Oscar Munoz, Director of Continuing Education at TAMIU, said the courses answer critical local and regional needs for easily accessible and affordable courses that can be applied to everything from daily life to business operation.

"The courses we will present for this initial offering are focused on entering the computer age and the riches its understanding can bring. The information super highway is truly here and at TAMIU, we're ready to teach our community how to navigate the Internet and beyond," he explained.

Although many are interested in navigating the future through the computer, Munoz said the lessons of the past will also still be heard through another Continuing Education offering, "Laredo: Yesterday and Today."

"This is a special course that has proven immensely popular over the years. We especially encourage newcomers to Laredo to enroll in this course to help answer their questions about their new home. The course includes walking tours, field trips on both sides of the border and much more. Local historian Sam Johnson will conduct the course," he said.
