Students at Texas A&M International University will have access to additional scholarship monies thanks to the generosity of the Laredo Manufacturer's Association which has provided a $25,000 Scholarship Gift.

The Gift will be presented at the LMA's March 26, 1996 meeting at 7:30 a.m. in The Great Room of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library at TAMIU's new campus.

Interim President Jose Garcia said the University is gratified to have the support of the LMA.

"While the State of Texas and the Legislature have indeed been kind to TAMIU, the need for scholarship monies for our students is critical. We consider ourselves fortunate to have the support of the Laredo Manufacturers' Association as we help our students to attain their educational dreams," he said.

The morning's program will include an update on the growth and development of the University by Garcia and brief presentations by students receiving scholarships who will express their appreciation for the Gift provided by LMA.

LMA President J. J. Malloy will present the Gift check and optional tours of the campus will be conducted by members of the Student Ambassadors, the University's student service group.
