TAMIU Signs MOU with UAC Friday

Texas A&M International University's College of Business Administration and Graduate School of International Trade and Business Administration will soon join forces with the Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila (UAC) in Saltillo, Mexico.

The two will sign a Memorandum of Understanding Friday, May 3 at 11 a.m. in the Great Room of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library.

Signing the historic accord will be TAMIIU Interim President Jose Garcia and Dr. Khosrow Fatemi, Dean of the University's College of Business Administration and Dr. Alejandro Davila Flores, Rector of UAC.

"This Memorandum of Understanding will provide for student and faculty exchanges, joint research and exchange of materials, joint conferences, symposia and workshops," Garcia explained.

Dean of the Graduate School of International Trade and Business Administration Dr. Khosrow Fatemi said the signing also signals a dual degree offering.

"This Memorandum of Understanding provides for the establishment of a dual degree program: a Master of Business Administration from TAMIU and a Master of Regional Economics from UAC," he said.

The UAC System boasts three campuses, with a total student enrollment of over 30,000 with a faculty of over 3,000. The central campus in Saltillo offers degrees in Medicine, Law, Civil Engineering, Computer Systems, Chemical Sciences, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Architecture and Music, among others.

TAMIU holds a number of similar agreements with universities throughout central and Latin America and Europe.
