TAMIU Banking Student Receives Award From STNB

Texas A&M International University student Roger Sobalvarro has been named the 1996 recipient of the South Texas National Bank Outstanding International Banking Student Award.

The award, which was established by South Texas National Bank in 1995, is presented annually to the outstanding MBA-International Banking student.

Sobalvarro was nominated for the award by Dr. Kurt Jesswein, TAMIU Associate Professor of International Banking.

A plaque inscribed with Sobalvarro's' name will be permanently displayed in the University's College of Business Administration.

Sobalvarro graduated from TAMIU in May with a MBA in International Banking. He returned to his native Nicaragua and currently holds a position with the Central Bank.
