TAMIU Offers ACT Testing July 26

Students who may have missed national testing dates for the ACT college entrance exam will have an opportunity to take the exam locally through a special offering by Texas A&M International University Friday, July 26.

The University's Office of Enrollment Management will offer the testing for entry into TAMIU beginning at 8:00 a.m. in Bullock Hall 118. Cost of the exam, which will only be administered once, is $18.00. Seating is limited and students are encouraged to register for the exam early. The test will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Deadline for registration for the ACT examination at TAMIU is 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 1996. Late registration on a space available basis will be accepted until 5 p.m. Thursday, July 23.

A late fee of $7 will be assessed. The ACT score the student earns will be valid only at TAMIU for the 1996-97 academic year.

Betty L. Momayezi, Director of the Office of Enrollment Management and School Relations, said the testing opportunity is advantageous for students who may have been preoccupied with summer jobs or those who have not finalized their higher education plans.

"We wanted students who may have been tied up with summer jobs, those who haven't been able to develop their plans for higher education or newcomers to our city to be able to take the ACT exam and consider Texas A&M International University," she said.
