TAMIU Ambassadors Host Member Orientation Sunday

The Texas A& M International University Student Ambassadors will host a New Ambassador Orientation Sunday, August 4 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in Bullock Hall room 101 for students who are interested in becoming TAMIU Student Ambassadors or who wish to learn more about the student service organization.

Interested students may register for the new member orientation by calling the University's Office of Enrollment Management at 326-2272.

To be eligible to join the TAMIU Student Ambassadors, students must have at least a 2.5 grade point average. Incoming freshmen must have graduated in the top 20% of their class to be eligible.

The organization currently has 22 TAMIU Student Ambassadors but will expand membership to 35 for the upcoming school year.

Student Ambassadors serve as a liaison between students and administrators, provide campus tours to visitors, accompany representatives of TAMIU at some recruitment events, participate in new student orientation, and act as hosts for various campus functions.

The Student Ambassadors are advised by Ricardo Ortegon, Associate Director of the University's Office of Enrollment Management and School Relations. Ortegon founded the student service organization last year.

TAMIU office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
