Texas A&M International University students who activated electronic mail (email) accounts with the University last year must update their accounts by Monday, September 30. Student email accounts established last year that are not updated by Sept. 30 will be subject to cancellation.

Students may update their email account by visiting Building C room 115. Interested students who wish to obtain an email account should also visit C-115 to pick up instructions on how to obtain an email account with the University.

Students must provide their own disk in order to download the files needed to initiate service.

All currently registered A&M International students can receive and send email free of charge through a student email project that was established at the University this past Spring Semester.

"This has been a very successful program, with many of our faculty incorporating email and Internet accessibility into their course work with students," said Lakshmana Viswanath, A&M International Director of Computer and Telecommunications Services.

Viswanath added that the email and Internet access that students at A&M International enjoy is usually only available at larger universities.

"Our fiber optic network, open-ended systems and mainframe access make this possible," he explained.

For additional information, contact the University's Student Computer Lab offices at 326 - 2290.

The University's Student Computer Labs, located on the First Floor of Building C, are open from 8:00 a.m.- 10:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday; 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., Friday and 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
