TAMIU Police Issue Parking Citations Beginning Aug. 29

Private vehicles parked on Texas A&M International University's north Laredo campus by students or employees will be ticketed beginning on Thursday, August 29 if the vehicles do not display a Fall Semester Parking Permit, said the University's Chief of Police Harry W. Stege.

Penalty for a first citation is $10, and vehicles without valid parking permits may also be towed and impounded at the owner's expense.

University students and employees may obtain a parking permit from the A&M Police Department during the following dates and times: 1:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. August 29, September 2, 4, and 6; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. August 30, September 3 and 5; and 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. weekdays after September 6.

University Police Department offices are located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building, Lower Level Room 002.

Parking permit fees must be paid at the University's Business Office before parking permits will be issued.

Parking permit fees for A&M International students are $10 per long semester and $10 for summer. Parking permit fees for University faculty and staff are $20 annually. Motorcycle parking fees for students are $5 per semester and $10 annually for faculty and staff.

Parking fees were set by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.

The hang-tag style Fall Semester Student Parking Permits will be valid through December 31 and must be revalidated for the Spring and Summer semesters.
