Texas A&M International Students May Apply For Scholarship

Texas A&M International University students who graduated from a local high school in May of 1996 and meet other criteria may apply for a $300 scholarship being offered to A&M International students by the Fifty Plus Dance Club.

The Fifty Plus Dance Club Scholarship is available to a May 1996 high school graduate who is attending A&M International for the 1996-1997 academic year and who meets the following criteria: is a US Citizen, is a May 1996 graduate of a Laredo high school, has an overall grade point average of a B- or higher, is enrolled at A&M International full-time (12 hours or more) for the Fall 1996 semester and will be enrolled at the University full-time for the Spring 1997 semester; and is following a curriculum prescribed for one of the University's undergraduate programs.

To apply for the scholarship, students must submit a scholarship application form to the University's Office of Financial Aid and complete an essay question. Application forms are available in the Office of Financial Aid, located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building room 155 West.

Deadline to apply for the Fifty Plus Dance Club Scholarship is 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17.

The scholarship recipient will be awarded half of the $300 scholarship in the Fall semester. The remaining half will be awarded in the Spring semester. To receive the scholarship for the Spring semester, the recipient must have an overall grade point average of at least a 2.0 for the Fall 1996.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, and 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
