Second Dusty Golf Tournament Scheduled Saturday

The Second Dusty Golf Tournament benefiting student scholarships and future intramural facilities at Texas A&M International University will take place this Saturday, Oct. 26 at 8 a.m. at the Lake Casa Blanca Golf Course.

The Tournament sponsors include Commerce Bank, South Texas National Bank, and Kowalsky, Rose and Company. It will get underway with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Entry fee is $75 per person.

Hole in one prizes include a 1997 GMC Yukon from Watson General Motors, $10,000 from Laredo BorderPlex Area Phone Book and a new Rolex watch from Deutsch and Deutsch Jewelers.

A fajita buffet will follow the tournament and awards for the Top Three Finishers will be presented in an Awards Ceremony at the Club house.

A variety of door prizes will also be awarded. Providing door prizes for the benefit event are Charlie's Corona Restaurant, Tono's Bar and Grill, La Posada Hotel, Laredo Bar and Grill, Kustom Kar Wash, Regis Hairstyles, Magic Car Wash, Chili's Bar and Grill, Dr. Jim Giermanski and the Holiday Inn Civic Center.

The Dusty Tournament, named after the University's mascot, "Dusty the Dustdevil," was first presented last year. Over 130 golfers participated. Proceeds from that event benefited the University's Alumni Association Scholarship, Student Scholarships and intramural facilities.
