First-time freshmen students who wish to attend Texas A&M International University in the Spring 1997 semester are reminded that they must submit official SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) or ACT (American College Testing) scores as part of the admissions process.

Both the SAT and ACT will be administered locally on December 7 and 14, respectively. The December testing is the final local administration of either exam before Spring semester courses begin at A&M International.

Regular registration deadline for the SAT is November 1. Regular registration deadline for the ACT is November 15.

SAT and ACT registration materials may be obtained from local and area high school counselors. The registration materials are also available from the University's Office of Admissions, located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building room 168 West.

Maria R. Rosillo, Director of Admissions and Advisement at A&M International, said freshmen applicants will not be considered for admission unless they submit official SAT or ACT scores.

"A&M International requires that all students who are applying to the University for the first time and who have 29 or fewer college credit hours submit scores of 860 or higher for the SAT or 18 Composite or higher for the ACT in order to comply with admissions criteria," she explained.

New freshmen applicants who need additional information should contact the University's Admissions Counselor, Lisa Bennett, at (210) 326-2206.

Additional information and registration materials may also be obtained from the University's Office of Admissions in Killam room 168 West.

Office hours are 8:00 am. - 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday - Thursday.

Persons who have access to the Internet may also visit A&M International's Home Page at http://www.tamiu.edu for information on the University.
