A&M International Seeks Works For Student Literary Journal

Texas A&M International University students who wish to submit original works of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, drama, photography or drawings for the University's literary journal must do so by Monday, December 2.

The literary journal, Voices/Voces will feature the best writing by students at A&M International. It will be published in the Spring Semester. Students currently enrolled in Creative Writing course (ENGL 4381) will edit the journal. The course is taught by Dr. Norma E. Cantu, Professor of English at A&M International.

Journal editors are accepting submissions in the following genres: poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and drama. Photographs and drawings will also be accepted for submission.

Poetry submissions should be 3 to 5 poems, with a maximum of 10 pages per student.

Fiction submissions may be short stories or novel excerpts, with a maximum of 20 pages per student.

Drama submissions may be short skits or excerpts from longer plays, with a maximum of 20 pages per student.

Black and white photographs or drawings should be no larger than 5" by 7", with a maximum submission of 3 photographs and 3 drawings per student.

Students should submit written works as two hard copies and a disk with the file clearly titled. Hard copy submissions must be double spaced.

Submissions should be directed to Dr. Norma E. Cantu in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building Room 419 West or Maria Rosillo in Killam Room 168 West.

Deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 2.
