Texas A&M International University's College of Science and Technology will host a visit from Laredo Independent School District Med-Prep program students on Saturday, November 9 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon in Building C.

The students, who are all interested in pursuing careers in medicine or allied health, will tour the University's science facilities and conduct an experiment in the biology lab. The biology experiment will be supervised by Dr. Mario Garcia-Rios, Assistant Professor of Biology at A&M International.

Dr. Edwin A. Martinez, Dean of the College of Science and Technology, said the event will afford students an opportunity to meet with University professors and gain insight on careers in science.

"The activities scheduled for the visit will also expose these talented, goal-oriented high school students to college-level field experience," said Dr. Martinez.

In October, the Med-Prep students toured the University's School of Nursing.

For more information on the visit by the Med-Prep students, contact Dr. Martinez at 326-2440 or visit the office of the College of Science and Technology in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building room 432 West.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
