University Invites Employers to Register for "Global Opportunities"

The Texas A&M International University Office of Career Planning and Placement is inviting employers to participate in "Global Opportunities `97," a job, teacher, and career fair to be held at the University's main campus, 5201 University Boulevard, in the new Kinesiology Building on Tuesday, April 15 from 12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m.

Registration fee is $30 for the first representative and $7 for each additional representative. Employers who are interested in participating in the University's "Global Opportunities `97" may obtain registration information by calling the Office of Career Planning and Placement at 326-2260 or visiting offices in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building Room 157 West. A "Global Opportunities `97" Registration Form is also available online on the University's Homepage at http://www.tamiu.edu/affairs/go-reg.htm.

Registration deadline is Monday, March 10.

Employers who participate in "Global Opportunities `97" can share information about possible employment opportunities and offer advice on career planning and successfully following chosen career paths.

Up to 100 representatives from various employment fields, including school districts located throughout the United States, are expected to converge on the A&M International campus for "Global Opportunities `97."

Virginia Garcia, Director of Career Planning and Placement at the University, said "Global Opportunities `97" will provide a forum for A&M International students and graduates to meet with prospective employers to discuss various career options and to hear first-hand career success stories.

"This is a great opportunity to visit our new campus and meet our outstanding students. We hope local and area employers will join us to meet with eager students and share their expertise with tomorrow's workforce," said Garcia.

Local organizations interested in donating items for registration and door prize drawings for student participants are encouraged to contact the A&M International Office of Career Planning and Placement.
