A&M International Offers Free Career Workshops

The Texas A&M International University Office of Career Planning and Placement will hold free workshops in March and April to assist University students in achieving their career goals.

The number of workshop participants is not limited, however, students are asked to preregister to attend any workshop by calling the Office of Career Planning and Placement at 326-2260 or by visiting offices located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library Administration Building Room 157 West.

Scheduled workshops include: "Interview Skills," Wednesday, March 5; "Cover Letter and Resume Writing," Thursday, March 6; "Cover Letter and Resume Writing," Wednesday, April 2; and "Interview Skills," Thursday, April 3.

Workshops will be held from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in Killam Building Room 157 West.

The Office of Career Planning and Placement has designated March 24 - 28 as "Career Week." Each day of Career Week will feature workshops and activities devoted to a specific career topic. "Internships and Programs" will be highlighted on March 25, Other featured topics include "Summer Job Search" on March 26, "Job Fair Preparation," March 27, and "Job Search Strategies," March 28.

Career Week is being offered to help students prepare for "Global Opportunities `97," the University's job, teacher, and career fair to be held April 15.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, and 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday - Thursday.
