A&M International Observes National Collegiate Health & Wellness Week

Texas A&M International University will host a series of health-related events at the University's main campus beginning March 3 in observance of National Collegiate Health and Wellness Week.

All events are free and open to the community. Scheduled events are as follows:

Monday, March 3--Talk on "Sexually Transmitted Diseases" at 4:30 p.m. in Bullock Hall room 101. Featured speaker will be Registered Nurse Angelina Cantrell, Director of the University's Student Health Services.

Tuesday, March 4--Free Confidential HIV Screening from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon and 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. at the University's main campus. To assure complete anonymity, no names will be used. Instead, participants will be identified by an assigned number. Interested persons should visit the University's Office of Student Health Services located in Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building room 156 West for more information.

Wednesday, March 5--Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the University's West Parking Lot. Anyone between the ages of 17 and 72 who weighs at least 110 pounds, has not had hepatitis, and is in good general health may donate blood. Donors must show a photo identification before beginning the donation process.

Thursday, March 6--Talk on "Abusive Relationships" at 12:00 noon in Bullock Hall room 113. Guest speaker will be Dr. Susana Perry, Assistant Professor of Psychology. Participants may bring their lunch to the talk. Beverages and lite desserts will be served.

Office hours are 8:00 am. - 7:00 p.m. Monday - Tuesday and 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Wednesday - Friday.
