A&M International Offers Talk On Improving Memory

Texas A&M International University will host a free health talk entitled "Improving Memory for Academic Success" on Thursday, February 27 from 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. in Bullock Hall room 113 on the University's main campus, 5201 University Boulevard.

Featured guest speaker will be Dr. Jeffrey M. Brown, Assistant Professor of Psychology at A&M International.

Admission is free and members of the community are invited to attend. Participants are invited to bring their lunch. Beverages and lite desserts will be served.

Dr. Brown will share tips and techniques which can be used to improve memory. Improving memory for academic, professional and personal success will be stressed. The presentation is ideal for persons who memorize intensive amounts of details including students, business persons, and professionals. His talk will end with a question and answer period.

Brown holds a BA in Psychology from Miami University and a MS and PhD in Experimental Psychology from Texas A&M University. His areas of expertise include human memory, problem solving, eye witness memory, creativity, and cognitive psychology.

The talk is part of A&M International's "Spring 1997 Health and Wellness Initiative," a lecture series sponsored by the University's Office of Student Health Services.

Upcoming talks include: "Abusive Relationships," Dr. Susana Perry, Thursday, March 6; "The Truth About Cholesterol," Dr. Jorge Gomez Vasquez, Wednesday, March 19; "Diabetes," Dr. Eduardo Gomez Vasquez, Wednesday, April 9; and "Headaches," Dr. David Garza, Thursday, April 24.

All talks will be held at 12:00 noon in Bullock Hall room 113.
