Texas A&M International University students interested in the art of dance are invited to join the Ballet Folklorico de la Universidad de Texas A&M Internacional, a new student organization.

The dance group educates the public about the beauty and richness of Mexico's history and culture through performances held on campus and throughout the community. Performances include dances from various regions of Mexico.

Students who join the Ballet Folklorico will receive dance training from the group's Dance Director, Gabriela Mendoza. Training is held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building room 420 West.

Dance Director Mendoza, Associate Director of the University's Office of Student Development, was a member of a professional dance troupe, Roy Lozano's Ballet Folklorico de Tejas, in Austin from 1991 to 1995. She also danced with El Grupo de Dance y Arte Folklorico de la Universidad de Texas en Austin from 1989 to 1991.

A&M International students interested in joining the University's Ballet Folklorico should contact Mendoza at 326-2280 for more information.
