Texas A&M International University's College of Business Administration will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Germany's Europa Universitat Viadrina (EUV) during a signing ceremony to be held on Monday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Great Room of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building (room 319).

The signing ceremony will be officiated by Dr. Hans N. Weiler, EUV professor and rector, and Dr. J. Charles Jennett, A&M International President.

The Memorandum of Understanding outlines provisions for student and faculty exchange and joint research.

The first student exchange will begin in September when two German students enroll at A&M International for the Fall 1997 semester.

Founded in Eastern Germany in 1991 after the reunification, the EUV is located in a border city between Germany and Poland. About one third of EUV students are Polish, and the institution has close links with Polish and Eastern European universities.

Areas of special interest in teaching and research at EUV include International Financial Management and Accounting, International Marketing, International Taxation, and special economic problems of Transformation in Central and Eastern Europe.

Since both A&M International and EUV share interest in such research areas as economic issues between border countries of different economic situations, the two Universities will work together to identify joint research interests and to jointly seek research funding.
