Local and area high school students who wish to register for Summer Session or Fall courses at Texas A&M International University can do so without leaving their high school campuses during the University's "On-Line On-Site Registration" April 14 - 28.

Representatives from various University's offices including Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid, Enrollment Management, and Academic Enrichment Center will guide students through the registration process during the "On-Line On-Site Registration," said Maria R. Rosillo, Director of Admissions at A&M International.

"Basically, we are taking our registration process to our local and area schools through sophisticated computer systems that link us to A&M International's main campus. So instead of lines and last-minute waiting, registering for classes and getting a Summer or Fall 1997 course schedule finalized is only a point and click away on a computer," Rosillo explained.

"Our state-of-the-art campus affords us special advantages with its high-tech facilities and fiber optics linkages. We believe this allows us to be more responsive to our incoming students while simultaneously allowing us to gauge student response to course offerings," she added.

The schedule for "On-Line On-Site Registration" is as follows:

Monday, April 14, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Cotulla High School

Wednesday, April 16, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Zapata High School

Monday, April 21, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Alexander High School

Tuesday, April 22, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - United High School

Wednesday, April 23, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Martin High School

Thursday, April 24, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Nixon High School

Friday, April 25, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Cigarroa High School

Monday, April 28, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - United South High School

High school students who take advantage of the "On-Line On-Site Registration" will be able to select their classes, finalize their course schedule, and receive a printed course schedule provided to them, all without leaving their high school campus.

"All that the students need to do is attend a Freshman Orientation in July or August and pay tuition and fees. Students who register via "On Line On-Site Registration" will receive a billing statement this summer and they have until May 26 to pay for Summer I courses, July 22 for Summer II courses, and August 15 for Fall courses," Rosillo said.

High school students who wish to participate in A&M International's "On-Line On-Site Registration" must first file an application for admission with the University. Application forms are available in advance of each campus visit at the respective high school counselor's office or through the University's Office of Admissions located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building room 155 West on the University's main campus. Applications may also be provided by mail or fax upon request.
