University to Host Reception for Student Organizations

Texas A&M International University's top student clubs will be honored during a Student Organization Awards Reception on Thursday, April 10 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. in the Great Room of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building (room 319).

The event is being hosted by the University's Office of Student Development.

Awards will be presented for the Outstanding Community Service, Most Outstanding Sponsor, Leader of the Year, Freshman Excellence, Most Active Student Organization, and Coolest Shirt Design.

Gabriela Mendoza, Associate Director of the University's Office of Student Development, said the Student Organization Awards recognize the hard work and dedication that the most active student organizations have achieved this year.

"Involvement in one or more of A&M International's student organizations can add an important dimension to a student's University experience. We hope the Awards will heighten the organizations' visibility and encourage more University students to become involved," she said.

The University currently has 31 chartered student organizations with interested ranging from accounting to astronomy, biology to barbell weight training.
