Higher-education-bound students who have not had an opportunity to take their ACT placement test can take the ACT Residual Exam at Texas A&M International University on June 25 and June 28.

The ACT Residual Exam is identical to conventional ACT exams, but can be locally scored with results applied only to admission at the host university, A&M International.

The test will be offered Wednesday, June 25 from 1-5 p.m. in Canseco Hall 101 and Saturday, June 28, from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. in Bullock Hall 118. Actual test time is about 3 hours. Cost of the exam will be $16.50.

Admissions Counselor Lisa Bennett said the opportunity is ideal for freshmen students who for various reasons were not able to take ACT or SAT examsearlier in the year.

"While the national exam is offered at various times throughout the year, we understand that many local students were not able to register for testing. No other testings are scheduled this summer. This ACT Residual Exam offers them a final chance to take the exam that is required for admission to A&M International and ready themselves for admission this Summer Session II and Fall at the University," Bennett explained.
