Registration Deadline Nears for University's ENGL 3301 Exemption Test

Texas A&M International University students who wish to take the ENGL 3301 Exemption Test for Fall to be administered on August 9 must sign up prior to the test.

The ENGL 3301 Exemption Test for Fall 1997 is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 9 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in Bullock Hall room 101.

All transfer students who have taken the equivalent of ENGL 1301 at another institution are required to take ENGL 3301 at A&M International, however students who wish to be exempted from ENGL 3301 can opt to challenge the course by taking the departmental exemption test.

Students may take the exemption test only once and only if they have completed their English sophomore sequence and passed all sections of the TASP.

Students who do not pass the test will be required to take ENGL 3301.

The Aug. 9 testing will be the only testing for Fall 1997.

Students need to sign up for the test in advance by calling the Academic Enrichment Center at 326-2134 or

visiting the Center offices located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building, Room 214 East.

University office hours are from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.
