A&M International Slates GRE Test Preparation Course

Texas A&M International University's Office of Continuing Education will offer a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Test Preparation/Review course for students who wish to prepare to take the exam.

The GRE Test Review course will be offered at the University`s main campus on Saturdays from September 6 - October 25.

Class sessions on Sept. 6 and Sept. 13 will be from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. with a lunch break from 1 - 2 p.m. Class sessions on Sept. 20, Sept. 27, and Oct. 4, 18, and 25 will be from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Tuition is $160 plus $45 for books. Instructor for the course will be Bianca Rhodes Spies.

The course will include segments on reading comprehension, antonyms, analogies, and sentence completion, mathematical skills, analytical reasoning, and logical reasoning.

The reading comprehension segment will offer instruction on actively evaluating the content, structure, and details of text in order to read with understanding and discrimination.

The segment on antonyms, analogies, and sentence completion will review of the most common relationships used on the GRE test and present a strategy for vocabulary reinforcement.

The mathematical skills segment will detail strategies for applying concepts to the types of word problems that appear on the exam.

Course participants will learn to develop systems of diagramming and coding conditions to arrive at correct conclusions in the analytical reasoning segment, and the logic reasoning segment will help participants identify conclusions, discover hidden assumptions, and critically evaluate the strengths or weaknesses of an argument.
