University Students, Staff Reminded To Purchase Fall Parking Permit

Texas A&M International University students and employees are reminded they must purchase a Fall Semester Parking Permit if they plan to park a private vehicle on the University campus.

Parking Permits are available from the University Police Department located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building, Lower Level Room 005.

The University Police Department will issue parking permits during the following dates and times: Thursday, Sept. 4, 2 - 10 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 5, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Monday, Sept. 8, 2 - 10 p.m.; Tuesday, Sept. 9, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2 - 10 p.m.; Thursday, Sept. 11, 8 - 5 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 12, 2 - 10 p.m.; and 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday beginning Monday, Sept. 15.

Parking permits will only be issued to students and employees who have a receipt from the Business Office showing parking permit fees have been paid.

Parking fees for A&M International students are $10 for a single semester or $20 for the full year.

Parking fees for faculty and staff are $20 annually.

Motorcycle parking fees for students and staff are $5 annually.

A&M International parking fees are set by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents, not by the University.

The hang-tag style Fall Semester Student Parking Permits are valid through December 31 but may be revalidated for Spring '98 and Summer '98 semesters.

Private vehicles parked on the University campus that do not display a Fall Semester Parking Permit will be ticketed beginning September 11.

Penalty for a first citation is $10, and vehicles without valid parking permits may also be towed and impounded at the owner's expense.
