A&M International Holds Student Government Election Sept. 29-30

Texas A&M International University students can exercise their right to vote during Student Government Association (SGA) Elections to be held Monday, Sept. 29 and Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. in front of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library.

Fifteen SGA offices in the legislative and judicial branches open for election. In the legislative branch, 8 senatorial positions are open, two each from the College of Education and College of Science and Technology, one each from the College of Arts and Humanities and College of Business Administration, and one each for At Large Representatives and Graduate Students At Large Representatives.

In the judicial branch, open positions include four justices, one each from the Colleges of Arts and Humanities, Business Administration, Education, and Science and Technology; two Justices At Large, and one Appellate Justice At Large.

The Student Government Association, an officially recognized student organization, participates in the decision-making processes affecting University students.

The SGA's primary purpose is to represent the concerns and interests of students and to provide or assist in providing programs for betterment and enrichment of the campus community.
