A&M International Student Receives AITP Scholarship
Texas A&M International University student Mary A. Morrison has been named recipient of the 1997 Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) Scholarship.
Morrison received the $500 scholarship and a plaque during a brief ceremony held at the University recently. The ceremony was attended by her classmates, faculty from the University's College of Business Administration, and Kevin Jetton, AITP Region 3 liaison and a member of the AITP board of directors.
Morrison, a Command and Control Specialist at Kelly Air Force Base, is majoring in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Business. She and husband Dale L. Morrison, have two children, Irene and Carrie.
She is a member of the University's Student Systems Group (SSG), a student organization which strives to link the academic and business world through affiliations with professional information resource management associations like the AITP.
The AITP is a premier organization for computer information systems professionals and managers.
Since 1995, members of the SSG have participated in AITP regional and national student conferences and competitions.
