A&M International Holds Talk on AIDS Wed., Oct. 8

Texas A&M International University will hold a free lunchtime talk entitled "AIDS: The Human Toll" on Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 12 noon - 1 p.m. in Bullock Hall room 101 on the University's main campus, 5201 University Boulevard.

Members of the University community and the community at large are invited to attend. Persons who attend may bring their lunch to the talk. Beverages and light snacks will be served.

Guest speaker Rodolfo Rincon of the City of Laredo Health Department will present the talk.

It is the first presentation in a series of free lunchtime talks organized for the University's Safety, Health, and Wellness Initiative.

Other talks in the lunchtime series include: "Campus Safety/Preventing Assault" Nov. 12; "The Smoking Heart," Nov. 19; "Making Sure Finals Don't Finally Kill You!" Dec. 10; "Successful Weight Reduction," Jan. 28; "Heart Healthy Living," Feb. 11; "Fitness Through Aerobic and Resistance Training," Feb. 25; "Rites of Spring: Preventing and Overcoming Sports Injuries," Mar. 4; and "Sexual Diversity Panel Discussion," Apr. 29.

The "Fitness Through Aerobic and Resistance Training," talk scheduled Feb. 25 will be held in the Kinesiology/Convocation Building from 12 - 1 p.m.

All other talks will be held in Bullock Hall room 101, 12 - 1 p.m.

Presenters include local physicians, health care professionals, and University faculty.
