Jennett Named Outstanding Syracuse University Alum

Syracuse University recently named Laredoan Linda Jennett the recipient of the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science Dean's Outstanding Alumni Award.

The Award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated service and loyalty to their home colleges and Syracuse University and have excelled in their professions.

Jennett holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University. Her Bachelors degree was earned at Southern Methodist University.

She received the 1992 Society of Women Engineers National Award for Outstanding Technical Management and has served as Chairman of the Environmental Advisory

Council of the Conference Board, an organization of Chief Environmental Officers from over 70 Fortune 100 companies.

Additional honors include the 1992 Sigma Kappa Colby Award for contributions to Environmental Engineering.

She is currently president of Environmental Partners, Inc., a firm specializing in environmental management systems for corporations, located in Laredo.

Prior to coming to Laredo, she was Director of Environmental Affairs for North America for Schlumberger Limited for over 15 years. She began that company's worldwide environmental program and oversaw large engineering projects with budgets over $100 million throughout North America.

A Martin High School graduate, she returned to Laredo in 1996 with her husband, Dr. Charles Jennett, president of Texas A&M International University.

She serves on the Board of the Laredo Center for the Arts and is active in the Christ Church Episcopal. She and her husband have two adult children. Daughter Erin is an engineer in Houston and son Brian an architect in Hong Kong.
