A&M International Offers Workshop On Hyperactive Children Feb. 4, 11

Texas A&M International University's Office of Continuing Education will hold a two-part workshop on Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder children from 4 - 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4 and Wednesday, February 11 in Bullock Hall room 118 on the University's main campus, 5201 University Boulevard.

The workshop, titled "Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder in the School: Identification, Assessment and Classroom Management," is geared for parents, teachers, child care providers, social workers, counselors, nurses, and persons who interact with children who have Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).

Instructors for the workshop will be Dr. Guillermo E. Gonzalez Jr., Director of The Attention Deficit Disorder Clinic, and Dr. Todd Russell, Associate Professor of Psychology at A&M International.

Tuition is $20 for individual participants or $25 for both parents. Registration deadline is February 3.

Workshop participants will learn the signs, symptoms, causes, and treatment of ADHD. Methods for identifying ADHD children will be described.

Participants will also learn behavior modification techniques for the management of the ADHD child's behavior at home and in the classroom.

The workshop will be presented in English, however a Spanish translator will be available upon request.
