The Texas A&M International University Office of Career Planning and Placement invites employers to participate in "Global Opportunities `98," a job and career fair to be held at the University's main campus, 5201 University Boulevard, on Tuesday, March 24 from 12 noon - 3 p.m.

Registration fee is $40 for the first representative and $8 for each additional representative. Employers who are interested in participating in the University's Global Opportunities may obtain registration information by calling the Office of Career Planning and Placement at 326-2260 or visiting offices in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building Room 157 West.

An online Global Opportunities registration form is also available on the University's Home Page at http://www.tamiu.edu/affairs/go-reg.htm

Registration deadline is Monday, February 16, although late registrations will be accepted as space permits.

Up to 100 representatives from various employment fields are expected to participate in the event

Employers who participate in Global Opportunities can share information with A&M International students and graduates about possible employment opportunities and offer advice on career planning and successfully following chosen career paths.

Virginia Garcia, Director of Career Planning and Placement at the University, said Global Opportunities will provide a forum for A&M International students and graduates to meet with prospective employers to discuss various career options and to hear first-hand career success stories.

"This is a great opportunity to visit our new campus and meet our outstanding students. We hope local and area employers will join us to meet with eager students and share their expertise with tomorrow's workforce," said Garcia.

Global Opportunities participants who are interested in donating items for registration and door prize drawings for students are encouraged to contact the A&M International Office of Career Planning and Placement.

For more information on A&M International's "Global Opportunities `98," call the Office of Career Planning and Placement at 326-2260.

Their office hours are from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, and 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Wednesday - Thursday.
