Texas A&M International University is now accepting completed registration forms for the fifth "Western Hemispheric Economies in the 21st Century" conference.

The conference, sponsored by A&M International and the Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade, is scheduled to take place March 23-25 at the University campus and is expected to draw top decision makers from various countries in the continent to discuss the economic future of the Hemisphere.

The conference is open to the public, and those interested in international trade are encouraged to register for the event, said Dr. Khosrow Fatemi, dean of the College of Business Administration and the Graduate School of International Trade and Business Administration.

"I think people should take advantage of this opportunity and participate in the conference. The market for exporters south of Mexico is unbelievable, yet there is very little activity trying to export to those countries," Fatemi said.

Registration forms may be obtained at the College of Business Administration, Pellegrino Hall, room 301. The cost of preregistration is $185. Registration at the door will cost $210. These will include one copy of the proceedings, all receptions, lunches and dinners.

This year's confirmed participants include governmental representatives from the United States, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Perú, Ecuador, Guatemala, México, and Canada. Other invited participants include government leaders from Costa Rica, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, El Salvador, Honduras and Venezuela.

Co-sponsors of the conference include Universidad Americana (Paraguay), Northern State University (South Dakota), University of Texas at El Paso, University of New Brunswick (Canada), Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (México) and Texas A&M University.

For further information, please call the College of Business Administration at 326-2480. University office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The University will be closed from March 12 and 13 for Spring Break.
