A&M International To Host "Internet Applied" Conference

A free one-day conference titled "Internet Applied" will be held at Texas A&M International University on Friday, April 24 from 1:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Pellegrino Hall room 115.

The conference is sponsored by the Electronic Commerce Association (ECA), a chartered A&M International student organization dedicated to developing Internet skills, in cooperation with the Graduate Institute for Educational Research and Development of Victoria, Tamaulipas Mexico. The Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas and the Instituto Tecnologico de Nuevo Laredo are also participating in the event.

The Internet conference will include twelve presentations with topics ranging from "Internet Security" and "Corporate Intranets" to "Search Engines" and "Internet Course Development."

A panel discussion themed "Internet in the Service of Education" will follow the presentations. The panel will be chaired by Dr. Ronald J. Anderson, assistant professor of Education at A&M International. Panelists will include prominent faculty from A&M International; the Graduate Institute for Educational Research and Development of Victoria, Tamaulipas; Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas; and the Instituto Tecnologico de Nuevo Laredo.

The conference is open to the public and admission is free, however because space is limited, preregistration is required. Interested persons may preregister by calling ECA offices at 326-2487.
